This classic story was published again in 1986 with a wonderful colorful hardcover. I has rich illustrations and would be a wonderful addition to any child's library. Still, Rosie manages to unwittingly escape the fox only because he is thwarted by such accidents as a rake in the face, a fall in the pond, and a bee attack. Rosie, however, makes it safely back to her comfortable hen house--just in time for dinner. Sharp-eyed readers might enjoy anticipating the dangerous fates that await the fox, although the simple text never mentions his threatening presence.
